What do we do on a unvented cylinder service?
Whats involved in an unvented cylinder service?
The most important thing for us is checking the system is safe to use.
On a unvented cylinder service we carry out the following:
- Strip out line strainer and clean - this stop any incoming debris coming into your system.
- We checks for any signs of leaks - crusting around pipework shows previous leaks.
- check and top up pressures in the expansion vessels / internal air gap (A very important part) -if you don't have the system serviced annually, this is the main reason for faults to happen on unvented cylinders.
- check safety relief valves operating safely.
- checking for installation errors (Happens all to often).
- check hot water temperature corresponds to dual stat.
- top up pressure on heating side (if applicable).
- check flow rates.
- make sure electrics are safe and working correctly.
- fill in the service log book.
